Job Title: CMM Operator (Computerized Measuring Machine Operator) Job Location: Lavonia, Georgia Description: The CMM Operator is responsible for executing and delivering best in class quality assurance functions of in-process materials, documenting ensuring product consistency and quality and the inspection of final product prior to shipment to the customer. Working in an ISO 9001 precision metals machine shop and product assembly environment, the CMM inspects by measuring dimensions using precision instruments to ensure parts and products meet specifications. Accurately documents results, maintains all controlled document files and test records, coordinates calibration of test equipment and fixtures, and reports quality issues to the manager while following up to ensure corrective actions are accomplished.• Follow all safety regulations.• Protect our customer 100% from defects.• Perform physical testing of final product to ensure products conform to specifications.• Perform final inspection of finished product to ensure products conform to specifications.• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.• Excellent communication is required, both written and spoken, along with mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret blueprints, a working knowledge of measurement instruments, basic math and Trigonometry skills, and general proficiency with MS Excel, Access, and Word. CMM operation and programming are required.• Give input regarding process improvements and work with the manufacturing team to implement them effectively.• Inspects by measuring dimensions using precision instruments to ensure parts and products meet specifications. Accurately documents results, maintains all controlled document files and test records, coordinates calibration of test equipment and fixtures, and reports quality issues to the manager while following up to ensure corrective actions are accomplished.• Meet quality and KPI standards as defined.o Scope of responsibilities will vary based on business needs.o This position May require travel based on customer/supplier demandsCandidate will perform any and all other activities as required by management. Job Requirements: Two plus years QC /CMM experience in receiving, in-process, and final inspection is required. A technical degree a plus.Job also requires candidate to: operate and maintain laboratory instruments, operate automated equipment at run rate, good math, analytical and problem solving skills, to be self-motivated and a strong team player, possess strong computer skills, including Excel and Word, and to work any shift and overtime as necessary. .• Previous experience in automotive manufacturing a plus.• Experience with ISO quality systems a plus.• Must be willing to acquire a valid passport and be willing to travel overseas for training.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, position may involve sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 55 lbs. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to chemicals, noise, dust and change in temperature.
