All Children under the age of 18 years (Minors) in the entertainment industry in Georgia are subject to the Georgia Department of Labor's Rules concerning Minors in entertainment. Representative of the Minor must register the Minor with the Georgia Department of Labor prior to performing in Georgia. Entertainment industry employers, with some exceptions, are required to permit only registered Minors to perform.

To register a Minor, the Representative of a Minor, usually a parent or guardian, must complete the Georgia Department of Labor's application. For the application to be processed the Representative of the Minor must answer all required questions. Each Minor being represented by the same Representative must be registered separately.

Upon completion of the application, please click on "Continue" at the bottom of the page. If the application is completed correctly, a confirmation page will appear. Please allow 2 business days for processing. Upon approval of the application by the Georgia Department of Labor, an email will be forwarded to you. The email will advise you of the approval, your portal address and an initial password. It is recommended that upon receipt you change the password.

Upon entering your portal you will be able to print out the Minor's certification certificate. The certificate will list the Minor's name, certification number, date of birth and gender. This certification is valid until the Minor reaches the age of 18. The Representative of the Minor is the responsible party to maintain and update the registration information. The Certification Certificate is to be presented to the Employer when the Minor is chosen to perform. Some of the other features available through the portal are:

Please be advised that should the Representative of the Minor be cited and the violation is such as to suspend or revoke the Certification, the Minor will be unable to perform until a new Representative has applied and been approved.
